What counts as a record

Record limits apply to Starter and Business plans. Enterprise has no cap, though sizing affects performance. Here’s exactly how we count.

How daily totals work

Per flow: max(extracted, loaded), not the sum
Daily total: sum across all flows
Monthly total: sum of daily totals
Daily count resets at midnight in instance TZ
Nested document workloads (API/EDI): multiply estimate by 4

Overage handling

15-day grace period on a paid subscription
After grace: difference between current and next plan billed
Example: Starter on 10M records → +$300 (Business cost)

File-based flows are not counted. Copy Files, Move Files, Rename Files, and similar operations don’t consume record allocation. Many iPaaS competitors count these — we don’t.

Do you mark up OpenAI charges?

No. BYOK pays your provider directly with no Etlworks involvement. The Etlworks-managed wallet bills at-cost — what we pay the provider is what you pay us.

Can I cap monthly AI spend?

Yes. BYOK uses your provider’s spending limits. The wallet has a monthly cap you set when you fund it.

What about on-premise deployments?

BYOK works in cloud and hybrid out of the box. Air-gapped on-prem deployments can use a self-hosted inference endpoint — talk to sales about specifics.
